PROGRAM OUTLINE:
The Assistant Flight Instructor (AFI) / Flight Instructor (FI) Rating program is designed for licensed commercial pilots who aspire to become certified flight instructors. With 20 hours of ground training and 20 hours of flying training, cadets are prepared to meet DGCA requirements, including the AFIR/FIR oral examination. Successful candidates are issued an AFIR/FIR by the DGCA, opening pathways to build flying experience and guide the next generation of pilots. The course can be completed in 2–4 months, subject to training progress and regulatory compliance.

COURSE DURATION: 4-6 MONTHS

PHASE 1
GROUND TRAINING TIME: 20 HOURS
The program includes 20 hours of ground training, covering teaching methods, flight principles, and DGCA requirements. These sessions prepare cadets to deliver effective instruction and clear the AFIR/FIR oral examination.

PHASE 2
FLYING TRAINING: 20 HOURS
The course includes 20 hours of intensive flying training, focusing on patter flying and instructional techniques.
